The stomach normally secretes acid that is essential in the digestive process. This acid helps in breaking down the food during digestion. When there is excess production of acid by the gastric glands of the stomach, it results in the condition known as acidity.The acid solution that flows back up into the esophagus causes inflammation, irritation and scarring, which can narrow the circumference of the esophagus. Symptoms include hoarseness, food getting stuck, burning, irritation, nausea, coughing, wheezing, asthma symptoms and damage tooth enamel.
1) Basil-you can either chew the leaves or boil them in water and drink the mixture
2) Baking Soda-mix with water-this will make you burp and give you instant relief. Don't use the box you keep in the refrigerator to absorb odors. This will irritate your stomach
3) Ginger Root-this improves digestion and absorbs nutrients..It also protect your stomach against ulcers by promoting mucus secretion and reducing the effect of the acid on your stomach.
4 )Water and lemon juice-drink on empty stomach 15-20 minutes before eating the body will balance out its acid levels
5)Cold Milk-Milk has a high amount of calcium that helps it prevent acid build up and absorbs the excess acid produced, thereby reducing the symptoms of acidity.
